Two Lady Plainsmen Receive Post-Season Awards
[BORGER – November 14, 2022]
The Lady Plainsmen had a great season and now they follow up that with a couple of post-season awards!
The Lady Plainsmen finished the year with a winning record in conference for the first time in over 5 years at 8-6 and only saw them drop 2 of them at home thanks to the amazing student section. With having such a great season, it is only fitting to follow up the year with the announcement of 2 Lady Plainsmen receiving All-Conference honors, Campbell Horn and Bruna Duarte!
Campbell Horn the 5’11 sophomore from Wimberly, TX spent the last 2 seasons for the Lady Plainsmen Volleyball team and was this year’s team captain. In her sophomore campaign she tallied a total of 79 blocks to help anchor the Lady Plainsmen defense. Offensively she tallied 180 kills. The sophomore is still unsigned to continue playing at a four-year institution, but that shouldn’t be true for long.
Bruna Duarte, the 5’10 sophomore from Pelotas, Brazil transferred into the program from conference opponent NMJC. While in Borger, she tallied 148 kills and 85 digs. The powerful hitting arm of Duarte was a great offensive weapon for the Lady Plainsmen. Duarte is still awaiting options to continue her playing career after leaving Borger.
Congratulations to both ladies on a fantastic season and earning these honors!
