Volleyball 2022 Season Preview
[BORGER – August 4, 2022]
August 1st saw the beginning of the fall sports for the NJCAA. This day also saw our Lady Plainsmen begin practicing for the upcoming season. They enter this season with a new head coach who is a Hutchinson County local, McKenna Clement, who served last season as an assistant coach. She brings with her 11 returners from last season’s roster as well as adding another transfer. Filling out the roster with 6 high level freshmen this looks to be a roster that can make some noise this upcoming season.
Here is the schedule for the 2022 season:
Some key dates include:
Aug 22 – Home Opener vs Seward 6:00 PM
Sep 14 – Conference opener at Amarillo 6:00 PM
Sep 21 – Conference rival vs Clarendon 6:00 PM
Oct 8 – Conference rival vs Amarillo 2:00 PM
Oct 12 – Pink out game vs Western Texas 6:00 PM
Oct 29 – Sophomore Night/Halloween game vs New Mexico Military 2:00 PM
The Lady Plainsmen have been working hard all summer and were excited to be back on the court. In a quote from Coach Clement, “We are hitting the ground running this week because of the fforts the girls put in over the summer break. They are hungry and ready to make a statement.” The Lady Plainsmen look to improve off of a 12-16 (2-10) record from a young roster last season. They are looking to return to the Region 5 West Tournament after they saw a quick exit last year.
Season is 15 days away!
