Under new head coach, Brett Schneider, the Lady Plainsmen are off to a strong start going 8-4 and winning their first conference game vs. a tough Midland opponent. The few home games they have had early this season have all been exciting games to watch as the girls are showing off all the hard work they have put in throughout the preseason. The Plainsmen have only had a few home games because they have been traveling to classics in Texas, Arizona, and Colorado, but that is all changing as they host their first annual classic this Friday and Saturday here at the BCAC. The participating teams along with Frank Phillips are, Allen Community (KS), Casper College (WY), and Life Prep Academy (KS).
The first matchup on Friday will showcase Allen County vs. Life Prep Academy beginning at 5:00 pm. The Lady Plainsmen will play in the second matchup of the evening against Casper College at 7:00 pm. The Casper College Thunderbirds will come into the matchup with a strong 10-3 winning 4 straight games as well as holding a #22 national ranking in the NJCAA polls. The nightcap matchup between Casper and Frank Phillips will sure to be a thrilling matchup between two tough teams.
The second day of the classic on Saturday will begin at 1:00 pm with a matchup between Casper College and Allen County. The final game of the classic will have the Lady Plainsmen take on Life Prep Academy at 3:00 pm. This will mark as the final game for the Lady Plainsmen for the semester so they will look to close it out strong and enjoy the Christmas Break on a high note.
The Lady Plainsmen will be back in action over the holidays as the travel to the Bruce Fleck Classic in Arizona for 3 tough matchups before returning home for a double header conference matchup with the men's team on January 8 vs. South Plains.
