Day 2 of the Plainsmen Classic

[Frank Phillips College, Borger, TX, December 11, 2021] Day 2 brings an end to the first Plainsmen Classic.

Game 1 of the day saw Allen County square off against last nights victor and number 22 ranked Casper College. In the first half Casper picked up right where they left off from last night and took a 13-point lead into halftime by a score of 39-26. The second half didn’t have much difference as Casper cruised to a 22-point victory with a score of 68-46. The Casper College Thunderbirds will end the Classic 2-0as they head back up to Wyoming.

The second matchup showcased the Lady Plainsmen against Life Prep Academy. The Plainsmen really stifled Life Prep early with their intimidating Plainsmen Press. They cruised into halftime with a 21-point lead by a score of 39-18. The second half saw the same intensity defensively which made up for a poor shooting night for the Plainsmen. The final score was Plainsmen 60 and Life Prep 30. Top performers for the Plainsmen were Linda Brice with 16 points, Elise Turrubiates with 13 and T’Aaliyah Miner dropped in 10 points.

The Lady Plainsmen are off for a little break before they travel to Arizona for the Bruce Fleck Classic over the holiday season. They return home in January for conference matchup with #18 ranked South Plains College.
