Day 1 of Plainsmen Classic

[Frank Phillips College, Borger, TX, December 10, 2021] Successful Day 1 of the Lady Plainsmen Classic.

The first day of the Plainsmen Classic has kicked off this evening with the first matchup between Allen County and Life Prep Academy. The Red Devils from Allen County came out slow heading into the half down by 7 with a score of 20-13.  In the second half they were able to outlast a Life Prep Academy team that gave a tough fight. Final from this one, Allen County 49 and Life Prep Academy 41.

The second matchup of the evening is going to be the premiere matchup of the classic as the Lady Plainsmen are going to battle with #22 Casper College. The 7 pm tip-off was much anticipated with the first half living up to the hype. It was a back and forth first half with a fast-paced tempo ending with Casper up 4, 35-31. The third quarter saw the Casper Thunderbirds start to take over and eventually pull out a victory 71-56. Top performers for the Plainsmen saw Linda Brice, Elise Turrubiates, and T’Aaliyah Miner each contribute 15 points.

Day 2 begins at 1 pm as Casper College with the quick turnaround will battle Allen County. The lady Plainsmen are going up against Life Prep Academy with a 3 pm tip to conclude the classic.
