Brett Schenider, a Canyon, Texas native has over 20 years of coaching experience and strong roots in our local panhandle communities. Most recently, Coach Sneider was the assistant women's basketball coach at Texas Tech University (2013-14) where he signed three Junior College All-Americans ranked top 50 in the county. Coach Sneider was also an assistant coach at Memphis for three seasons (2009-2012) and was in charge of the development of post players as well as scheduling, opponent scouting, and recruiting. He helped take Memphis to its first postseason appearance in 2010 and had their first 20-win season in program history. He also worked as the liason between the UMKC strength and conditioning program for the team.
Prior to UMKC, Schneider spent a season at Sam Houston State (2006-07) and also as an assistant coach at West Texas A&M University (1993-98) serving as associate head coach from 2000-2006 helping West Texas A&M to a 248-76 record and six NCAA Division II tournament appearances. Between his two stints at West Texas A&M, Coach Sneider served as an assistant coach at the University of Missouri (1998-2000) and with the help of his players compiled a 31-17 overall record and notched its first postseason victory since 1985.
Schneider earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Sports and Exercise Science from West Texas A& University in 1997 and his Master's Degree in Interdisciplinary Studies in 2002. Frank Phillips College looks forward to having him serve as Head Coach for our Lady Plainsmen this Fall. We are confident in his potential and can already see the "hit the ground running" mentality he comes to our program with as he diligently recruits throughout this off season.
