[BORGER - May 6, 2024]
The Lady Plainsmen capture 20 wins this season!
Lady Plainsmen softball program continues to make history under Head Coach, Cesar Romero. This season marked another milestone as the Lady Plainsmen won 20 games in over a decade.
The offense this season was a huge part in leading to those wins. As a team, the Lady Plainsmen hit .372 and hit 39 dingers. One of the biggest offensive threats was 3B Savannah Sanchez. She led the team with 17 homers and drove in 79 runs. The next two on the leaders in RBIs was Hailey Montemayor and Madelyn Cason with 50 runs driven in.
Cason was also the team’s best pitcher this season as she started 29 games and had 169 innings pitched. She was able to strike out 100 opponents on the season with a 6.06 ERA.
Head Coach Cesar Romero had this to say, “I am so proud of the girls and all the work they put in this season.” The job is not done yet as the Lady Plainsmen have qualified for the WJCAC Tournament held in Lubbock, TX on the Lubbock Christian University campus on May 8-12. The Lady Plainsmen finished 3rd last year and are looking to make another run.
