Lady Plainsmen Earn Split After El Paso Walks Them Off Twice

The Lady Plainsmen hit the road for a 4-game conference series in El Paso, TX.
The Lady Plainsmen had Amber Poorbaugh take the circle for game 1. She took the game all the way to the 7th with a 5-3 lead before giving up the walk off grand slam to El Paso. The Lady Plainsmen had 3 long balls in the top of the 4th that were all solo shots coming from Kyla Bonnarens, Karla Banegas, and Jordan Martinez. In the top of the 6th the Lady Plainsmen scored 2 more runs after Banegas hit a double and Martinez went deep for the second time in the game.
In game 2, the Lady Plainsmen offense did not miss a beat. Jordan Martinez, Karla Banegas and Kyla Bonnarens went deep again with a grand slam by Martinez. Bonnarens and Banegas each added 3 RBIs with Gabby Geiselhardt getting 2 RBIs on a double. Karla Banegas was in the circle in a day she helped herself offensively she also brought a good pitching performance earning the win.
Game 3 was another offensive explosion for the Lady Plainsmen. This time, Raylene Zazueta earned 4 RBIs and had the ball leave the yard. Mica Contreras had 2 doubles and added 3 RBIs along with Gabby Geiselhardt who had a double and 3 RBIs. Amber Poorbaugh added 2 RBIs and Karla Banegas added 1. Kyla Bonnarens and Arianna Zubia added doubles to their offensive output. Amber Poorbaugh earned the win with a strong performance from the circle only giving up 3 runs.
Game 4 was another walk off loss to El Paso, giving the Lady Plainsmen a split on the series. They had 9 runs scored in the first 2 innings. El Paso added 4 in the 1st and 4 more in the 3rd. Things started to settle down offensively, but El Paso tied it up with a run in the bottom of the 5th. The Lady Plainsmen got it back as they scored in the next half inning. El Paso was able to come through in the bottom of the 7th with a clutch single that score the tying run. Going into extras, the Lady Plainsmen could not come through and ended up losing on a walk off double by El Paso. Kyla Bonnarens had 5 RBIs and went deep as well as Karla Banegas who added 3 RBIs. Amber Poorbaugh also left the yard earning 2 RBIs.
The Lady Plainsmen are back in action on Friday April 8, as they take on rival Clarendon College on the road. Follow along on Gamechanger.
