History Made, Plainsmen Are Heading To Hutch For The First Time Since 1958!
Borger, TX: The National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) announced on Sunday (March 16) that the Frank Phillips College Plainsmen have punched their ticket to the national tournament in Hutchinson, Kansas. The Plainsmen earned the #11 seed will take on the #22 seed in the Wallace State Lions out of Hanceville, Alabama. The game will take place at 8:00 PM on Sunday (March 24) at the Hutchinson Sports Center on ESPN+.
The Plainsmen lost their last game in the Region V semi-final game by two points to McLennan Community College on Friday (March 15), but because of their strength of schedule, the comittee felt the Plainsmen deserved the right to compete on the national stage. The Plainsmen finished the season 24-8 with a 11-5 record in the Western Junior College Ahletic Conference (WJCAC). This is the Plainsmen first appareance to the National Tournament since 1958.
